LC Description:
Interested in working with children? Students in this learning community will build a solid foundation for a career with children by taking one class related to child development (either ABSC 160 or SPLH 261) and one class related to social problems in the US (SOC 160). The LA&S 101 seminar will focus on understanding how social problems impact the development of children and how social policy should be informed by an understanding of child development. In addition, professions that involve working with children will be explored, including those in education, healthcare, and social policy/child advocacy.
